Campsie West United Free Church, Stirlingshire, originated in 1784, when a number of parishioners of Campsie adhered to the Relief Church. A meeting house was built, to which the later Campsie United Presbyterian Church in Main Street, Lennoxtown, was the successor (built 1872). After 1900 this became Campsie West United Free and terminated in 1910 on uniting with Campsie East United Free as Campsie Trinity United Free. The Kirk Sessions of presbyterian churches were modelled on those of the established church. |
