Ardeer United Presbyterian Church began in 1882 with mission work by Kilmarnock Presbytery and the erection of a mission hall. The first minister was ordained in 1892. It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Stevenston Ardeer. The Church of Scotland charge is in the presbytery of Ardrossan and was in the synod of Ayr until the abolition of synods in 1993. |
