Dalry Free Church was formed at the Disruption and the charge sanctioned the following year. A new church was opened in 1865. The congregation split over the choice of a minister in 1885. It passed successively to the United Free Church, as Dalry St Andrew's, and to the Church of Scotland. The Church of Scotland charge, which was in the presbytery of Ardrossan and the synod of Ayr, united with Dalry West as Dalry St Andrew's and West in 1946. |
