Kilmarnock, St Andrew's Free Church began at the Disruption, when the minister of an existing quoad sacra church and most of his congregation adhered to the Free Church. A church was built in 1844 (reconstructed, 1886). It passed successively to the United Free Church and the Church of Scotland, in the latter case as Kilmarnock St Andrew's North, which was in the presbytery of Irvine and Kilmarnock and the synod of Ayr. It united with Kilmarnock Howard as Kilmarnock Howard St Andrew's in 1984. |
