Buchanan Memorial Church, Glasgow, began in 1875 with Free Church mission work in the Caledonia Road area of Gorbals. A church was built at the intersection of Caledonia Road and Silverfir Street in 1877 as Buchanan Memorial Free (later United Free) Church. In 1947 the parish was terminated on uniting with Augustine as Augustine Buchanan Church. As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
