Rutherglen East Church, Lanarkshire, began as a Reformed Presbyterian congregation who joined the Free Church at the union of 1876 as Rutherglen East Free (later United Free) Church. The church building in Farmeloan Road at Main Street, Rutherglen, dates from 1872. The congregation terminated in 1981 on uniting with Rutherglen Old (III) as Rutherglen Old (IV). As a Church of Scotland charge it was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Clydesdale. |
