The Kirk Session of St Martin's, which was known of old as Meginch, formerly belonged to the Abbey of Holyrood and ministry of the session is recorded from 1567, in the person of Alexander Gray, reader. In 1693 the parish was joined to that of Cambusmichael and the church of St Martin was later rebuilt in 1776 and again in 1842. St Martin's established a link in 1959 with Cargill, under the ministry of Rev J.A. Honey, minister at Cargill, however this arrangement was later terminated in 1980 in favour of a link with Scone New. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Perth. |
