The Presbytery of Lorn, which was termed of old Kilmore, was erected by the General Assembly on the 8th December 1638 and the register of the Presbytery commences in 1651. The Presbyteries of Kilmore and of Inveraray were united together in 1689 but the union was not to last and they were severed again in 1704. In 1963 Lorn was united, by Act of Assembly, with the Presbytery of Mull to form the Presbytery of Lorn and Mull. The court formerly sat within the Synod of Argyll. |
