The General Assembly granted a constitution to a chapel for the district of Cartsdyke in 1839 and in 1866 the parish of Greenock Cartsburn was erected, quoad sacra. In 1929 Greenock Augustine was united with Greenock Cartsburn under the name of Greenock Cartsburn-Augustine and in 1981 the session of Greenock Cartsdyke was formed when Greenock Cartsburn-Augustine united with Greenock Crawfordsburn. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Greenock. Greenock Cartsdyke Church was dissolved on 6 October 2003. |
