The church of Clatt was dedicated to St Luag and was of old a prebend of Aberdeen. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1567, in the person of James Strachan. In 1958 Clatt established a link with the charge of Rhynie and in 1985 the session of Noth was formed when Clatt with Rhynie united with Gartly with Kennethmont. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Alford and later of Strathbogie until 1961 when, by Act of Assembly, the Presbytery of Strathbogie and the Presbytery of Fordyce were united together under the name of the Presbytery of Strathbogie and Fordyce. Following the restructuring of the Presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Gordon. |
