The church of Kiltarlity was dedicated to St Talorgan and it belonged of old to the Priory of Beauly. The parish boundaries of Kiltarlity were altered in around the year 1500 when the parish was united with that of Convinth and ministry of the session is recorded from 1561, in the person of George Hay. The parish church was later rebuilt in 1763 and again in 1829. In 1929 the congregation took the name Kiltarlity East, and in 1938 it united with former United Free congregation of Kiltarlity West. The united charge took the name of Kiltarlity Church of Scotland. After the union the former West manse was sold in 1939 and the former West church in 1944. A link was later established in 1982 with Kirkhill. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Inverness. |
