The medieval church was a prebend of Elgin Cathedral and its church was dedicated to St Peter. Ministry began in 1561 in the person of William Hepburne, parson. Duffus and Unthank were united before 1550. From at least 1976 the session was within the jurisdiction of Moray Presbytery, before which time it was within the jurisdiction of Elgin Presbytery. On 24 August 1958 the session linked with Synie followed on 20 July 1979 with Duffus, Spynie and Hopeman uniting to form Duffus, Spynie and Hopeman Kirk Session. |
