The Kirk Session of Inverallochy was established in 1864 when the parish was disjoined from that of Rathen. In 1930, following the Union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church, Inverallochy Parish Church united with the former United Free Church congregation of Rathen East. After the union the united charge continued under the name of Inverallochy and Rathen East, with both churches continuing in use, and a link was later established with Fraserburgh South in 1983. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Deer, until the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Buchan. |
