The church of Kilmodan, which was known of old as Glendaruel, was dedicated to St Modan and formerly existed as a prebend of Lismore belonging to the Priory of Whitern. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1598 in the person of Donald Macvicar. In 1954 Kilmodan united with the congregation of Colintraive under the name of Kilmodan and Colintraive. The kirk session sits within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Dunoon. |
