The parish of Stoneywood was erected on the 13th March 1896 when it was disjoined from Newhills and ministry of the session is recorded from the same year in the person of James Robb Allan. There existed of old a chapel of Stoneywood which was dedicated to St Mary, the burying ground of which still remains. In 1989 Stoneywood formed a union with the congregation of Bucksburn under the name of Bucksburn Stoneywood. The kirk session has sat within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Aberdeen throughout its existence. |
