The old parish church of Auldearn, which was rebuilt in 1757, was dedicated to St Columba, who is thought to have had a chapel here in the 6th century. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1571, in the person of Patrick Cumming. In 1930 Auldearn formed a union with the congregation of Dalmore, under the name of Auldearn and Dalmore, and in 1963 a link was established with Ardlach. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Nairn and later of Inverness. |
