A church was built in the district of Paisley Middle in 1781 and the parish of Paisley Middle was erected in the following year when it was disjoined from that of Paisley Abbey Parish by the Commissioners for the Plantation of Kirks. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1781 in the person of John Snodgrass. In 1964 Paisley Middle established a link with the congregation of Paisley Mossvale, this arrangement however was terminated in 1975 to permit a union with Paisley Canal Street under the name of Paisley Castlehead. The kirk session has sat within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Paisley throughout its existence |
