Garturk was erected as an independent parish in 1870 when it was disjoined from Old Monkland, a church had been built here a year prior in 1869. In 1978 Garturk formed a union with the charge of Coatbridge Whifflet, under the name of Coatbridge Calder. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Hamilton. |
