Pre-Reformation there was a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Pity. Ministry began in 1578 in the person of John Pilmair, reader. From at least 1955 the session was within Strathbogie and Fordyce Presbytery, before which time it was within the jurisdiction of Fordyce Presbytery. The parishes of Fordyce and Deskford were united c 1650, with that union being severed in 1654. On 30 August 1931 the session united with the United Free Church session of Deskford West. On 1 October 1967 the session linked with Cullen and is now in the Presbytery of Moray. |
