A chapel was opened at Inverbrothock, within the Presbytery of Arbroath, in 1828 and Inverbrothock Parish was disjoined from that of St Vigeans a number of years later in 1855. The congregation existed as Arbroath Inverbrothock until 1977 when it was dissolved. Arbroath Inverbrothock sat within the Presbytery of Arbroath until 1961 when, by Act of Assembly, the Presbytery of Arbroath, the Presbytery of Forfar and the Presbytery of Brechin and Fordoun were united under the name of Angus and Mearns. Following the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976 it became part of the Presbytery of Angus. |
