Kirn Chapel was erected in 1858 and the parish of Kirn was later disjoined from Dunoon in 1874 and erected as a separate parish quoad sacra. The session later became known as Kirn St Andrew's in order to distinguish between the parish church of Kirn and the Free Church of Kirn, which was termed Kirn St Margaret's. In 1970 the sessions of Kirn St Andrew's and Kirn St Margaret's were united together under the name of Kirn. The kirk session has fallen within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Dunoon throughout its existence. |
