The Kirk Session of New Kilpatrick or Easter Kilpatrick was disjoined from Kilpatrick by the Commissioners for the Plantation of Kirks in 1649. Within the parish bounds there existed in addition to the parish church, which was reconstructed and enlarged in 1909, two mission chapels, one at Drumchapel and one at Westerton. The kirk session has fallen within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Dumbarton throughout its existence. |
