A church was first opened within the area of Paisley North Parish in 1834 and in that same year the General Assembly granted a Chapel Constitution to the district. The North Parish was disjoined from that of the Middle parish of Paisley by the Court of Teinds in 1874 and the church was rebuilt a number of years later in 1888. In 1975 Paisley North formed a union with Paisley Mossvale under the name of Paisley Merksworth and a further union followed in 1983 with Paisley Wallneuk to form the session of Paisley Wallneuk North. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Paisley. |
