The General Assembly granted a constitution to a chapel at Elderslie on the 27th May 1839 and the Parish of Elderslie was later disjoined, by the Court of Teinds, from the Parish of Abbey of Paisley in 1862. In 1977 Elderslie Parish Church, also known as Elderslie West, united with the former United Free Church congregation of Elderslie East, under the name of Elderslie Kirk. The Kirk Session sits within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Paisley. |
