The Parish of Greenock South was disjoined from that of Greenock West Parish in 1875 and erected as an independent parish, quoad sacra. In 1965 the charge of Greenock South Park was formed when Greenock South united with Greenock Mount Park and a further union was later established in 1982 with Greenock Mount Pleasant, under the name of Greenock The Mount Kirk. The kirk session has fallen within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Greenock throughout its existence. |
