The Middle Parish of Greenock, which was originally termed the New Parish, was disjoined from Greenock West Parish by the Commissioners for the Plantation of Kirks in 1741. The Parish church was later rebuilt in 1761. In 1996 Greenock Mid Kirk formed a union with Greenock Wellpark West, under the name of Greenock Wellpark Mid Kirk. The Kirk Session has fallen within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Greenock throughout its existence. |
