The church of Forglen, which was rebuilt in 1806, was dedicated to St Adamnan and ministry of the session is recorded from 1588, in the person of John Panton, reader. Forglen was for a time joined with the neighbouring parish of Alvah but was erected as a separate parish during the early years of the 17th century. In 1971 Forglen united with Turriff St Ninian's, under the name of Turriff St Ninian's and Forglen. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Turriff until the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976, when it became part of the Presbytery of Buchan. |
