The church of Creich, Bonar Bridge was dedicated to St Deavanach and the parish was formerly a prebend belonging to the Chantor of the Cathedral of Dornoch. Chapels existed within the parish bounds at Knockain and Achness and in 1891 a mission chapel was erected at Rosehall. In 1931, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church , Creich Parish Church joined with the former United Free Church of Creich Bonar. After the union the session continued under the name of Creich, the former Creich Bonar church became the church hall and the mission church at Rosehall was given to the Rosehall congregation. A link was later established with Rosehall in 1973. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Dornoch until 1961 when, by Act of Assembly, the Presbytery of Dornoch and the Presbytery of Tongue were united together under the name of the Presbytery of Sutherland. |
