The Kirk Session of Earlston Ercildoune was established following the Reformation in 1560. Ministers to the parish are recorded from 1568. Prior to the Reformation, the church belonged to the Priory of Coldingham. Earlston Ercildoune formed part of the Presbytery of Selkirk until 1613, part of the Presbytery of Earlston from 1613 to 1929, and part of the Presbytery of Melrose from 1929 to 1976. With the restructuring of presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Melrose and Peebles. In 1946, Earlston Ercildoune united with Earlston St John?s, under the name Earlston. |
