St Luke?s Church, Glasgow, began in 1836 with missionary work in the western part of Calton. A new church was built in Bain Square near London Road in 1837, but was damaged by fire in 1920 and largely rebuilt. The parish was disjoined from Calton in 1863 as a quoad sacra parish, and terminated in 1961 on uniting with Macmillan Calton as Calton New. It was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
