Partick Old Church, Glasgow, began in 1834 with the building of an established church which acquired the status of a chapel of ease two years later. Partick was disjoined from Govan as a quoad sacra parish in 1869. The church, in Church Street, was subsequently much altered, and the present building effectively dates from 1879. It was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
