Annbank was formerly a mining village about 5 miles east of Ayr. It acquired a chapel in 1871, and in 1914 was erected as a separate parish by disjunction from Tarbolton and St Quivox. It is now linked with Tarbolton and is in the presbytery of Ayr. It was in the synod of Glasgow and Ayr until the reorganisation of 1929, thereafter in that of Ayr. Synods were abolished in 1993. |
