The parish of Coatdyke was disjoined from Airdrie and Coats in 1905 and erected into a parish, quoad sacra. Coatdyke later became known as Coatbridge Trinity and in 1970 a link was formed between Coatbridge Trinity and Coatbridge Cliftonhill. The two charges united a short time later in 1973, under the name of Coatbridge Coatdyke. A further union followed in 1993 between Coatbridge Coats and Coatbridge Coatdyke to form Coatbridge Clifton. The kirk session has sat within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Hamilton throughout its existence. |
