The parish church of Wick was dedicated to St Fergus and formerly belonged to the Bishop of Caithness. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1560 in the person of Andrew Graham. Pre-reformation the church was situated at Mount-Hallie near the east end of the town, this building however was replaced by a church erected in the present day churchyard in 1575. The existing church was later built in 1830. The Kirk Session of Wick Old sits within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Caithness. |
