The church of Patna (quoad sacra), Ayrshire, was built in 1837. In 1877 the parish was disjoined from Dalmellington, Dalrymple, Kirkmichael and Straiton. At the reorganisation of 1929 a brief union with a former United Free church (Patna East) took place, but the two separated almost immediately. The charge, now known as Patna Waterside (from June 1980), is in Ayr presbytery and was in the synod of Glasgow and Ayr until 1929, thereafter in the synod of Ayr. Synods were abolished in 1993. |
