The parish of Cargill, which at one time was designated the West Parish, was disjoined form Coupar-Angus by the Bishop of Dunkeld in 1514. The old church of Cargill was extensively repaired in 1754 and was rebuilt in 1831. In 1932 the former United Free Church session of Wolfhill was united with Cargill (under the name of Cargill) and in 1959 a link was established with St Martin's. Cargill later united with Burrelton with Collace in 1980 to form the session of Cargill-Burrelton. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Dunkeld and later of Perth. |
