The pre-Reformation church of Culsalmond was appropriated to the Abbey of Lindores. Ministry began in 1563 in the person of Stephen Mason, minister. From at least 1976 the session was within the jurisdiction of Gordon Presbytery, before which time it was within the jurisdiction of Garioch Presbytery. On 21 November 1937 the session united with the United Free Church session of Cusalmond South. On 18 May 1958 the session formed a link with Rothienorman which was terminated on 27 August 1985. Also on the 27 August 1985, the session linked with Daviot and Rayne kirk sessions, with Cusalmond and Rayne uniting on 3 November 1989 and the link with Daviot continuing. |
