The church of Dyke was dedicated to St Andrew and was formerly a mensal kirk of the Bishop of Moray. In 1618 the old parishes of Moy and Culbin were joined to Dyke and Dyke parish church was later rebuilt in 1718. In 1941, following0 the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929, Dyke parish church was united with the former United Free Church congregation of Dyke East. After the union the former Dyke East church and manse were sold. The parish of Edinkillie was linked with Dyke in 1979. The Dyke Kirk Session sat within the presbytery of Forres, later of Elgin and, following the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1979, it became part of the Presbytery of Moray. |
