The parish of Aberdeen Woodside was disjoined from St Machar and erected as a separate parish, quoad sacra, in 1862. A chapel had been opened here in 1830 which later passed into the possession of the Free Church and a new parish church was erected in 1846. In 1992 the Parish Church of Aberdeen Woodside (later known as Woodside South) was united with the former United Free Church congregation of Woodside North. After the union the session continued under the name of Aberdeen Woodside. |
