The parish of Holytown was disjoined from Bothwell in 1863 and erected as an independent parish, quoad sacra. A number of years earlier in 1837 a church had been erected here. The Kirk Session of Holytown has sat within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Hamilton throughout its existence. |
