Abernyte church was formed by the union of Abernyte North and Abernyte South in 1933. Abernyte church is in the Presbytery of Dundee, which was in the synod of Angus and Mearns until the abolition of synods in 1992.
Abernyte North: Abernyte church existed before the Reformation. It is likely that the manse was repaired in 1666 and an addition was made in 1820. Abernyte church was renamed Abernyte North in 1929. |
