The medieval church was granted to Kelso Abbey by Hugh Riddel, Lord of Cranstoun. Previous to the Reformation the church known as Little Preston was appropriated to St Andrews archepiscoposy. Ministry began in 1563 in the person of James Murray, reader. From at least 1976 the session was within the jurisdiction of Lothian Presbytery, before which time it was within the jurisdiction of Dalkeith Presbytery. On 19 April 1949 the session united with the United Free Church session of Crichton and Ford. On 9 July 1980 the session linked with Fala and Soutra session. |
