The parish of Helensburgh West (later known as St Bride's) was disjoined from Row and Helensburgh on the 29th October 1883 and erected as a separate parish quoad sacra. Prior to this date there had been an iron chapel erected here in 1868 and a church was later built in 1877. In 1981 Helensburgh St Brides formed a union with Helensburgh Old and St Andrew's under the name of Helensburgh The West Kirk. The kirk session sits within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Dumbarton. |
