St James?s Church, Glasgow, began in 1820 when a church in Great Hamilton Street, Calton, originally built for a Methodist congregation, was acquired by the Church of Scotland. The parish was erected in the same year and terminated in 1949, on uniting with Pollok St Aidan?s as St James (Pollok). It was in the presbytery of Glasgow and the synod of Glasgow and Ayr (later Clydesdale). |
