The parish of Langbank was disjoined from Erskine on the 22nd November 1875 and erected as a separate parish, quoad sacra. There had been a church built here a number of years previously in 1866. In 1932, following the union of the Church of Scotland and the United Free Church in 1929, Langbank Parish Church united with the former United Free Church congregation of Langbank West. After the local union the former parish church and halls were converted for use as the church halls of the united charge. The kirk session sits within the jurisdiction of the Presbytery of Greenock. |
