The parish of Renton was disjoined form Cardross in 1870 and erected as a separate parish, quoad sacra. Ministry of the parish is recorded from 1870 in the person of David Hood Wilson. In 1969 the old parish church of Renton was united with the former United Free Church congregations of Renton Millburn and Renton Union under the name of Renton Trinity. The Kirk Session has sat within the Presbytery of Dumbarton throughout its existence. |
