A church was first erected at Polwarth in around the year 900 and in 1242 a new church was built, which was dedicated to St Mungo and consecrated by Bishop David de Bernham. Polwarth church was again rebuilt in 1378 and also in 1703 and the interior underwent a reconstruction in 1929. In 1950 Polwarth was united with Langton to form the session of Langton and Polwarth and in 1983 the united session formed a link with Kirk of Lammermuir. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Duns. |
