The church of Logierait was dedicated to St Chad and formerly belonged to the Abbey of Scone. Ministry of the session is recorded from 1586 in the person of William Glas. In addition to the parish church there was also a mission church established within the parish bounds in Strathtay and in 1950 the mission church was transferred to the new parish of Grantully and Strathtay. The parish of Logierait was later united in 1975 with Grantully and Strathtay to form the session of Grantully, Logierait and Strathtay. The kirk session sat within the Presbytery of Weem, later of Dunkeld and, following the restructuring of the presbyteries in 1976, it became part of the Presbytery of Dunkeld and Meigle. |
