Airth Church, in the Presbytery of Falkirk (previously the Presbytery of Linlithgow and Falkirk), was granted to Holyrood Abbey by David I (c 1080-1153) soon after 1128. It was for a time in the Presbytery of Stirling. From the union of 1929 it was known as Airth North to distinguish it from the former United Free Church (which took the name Airth South). After the dissolution of Airth South on 1 Jan 1956 the congregation was once again known simply as Airth. |
