A church was first built at Boquhanran in 1908 and the parish was disjoined quoad sacra from Old Kilpatrick and Clydebank on the 12th December 1913. In 1941 the church, along with some of the old church records, was destroyed by bomb damage. Consequentially, in 1943 a wooden hut was bought to serve as temporary accommodation and in 1954 the church was reopened, having been reconstructed on the same site. In 1974 Boquhanran formed a link with Clydebank Union under the ministry of Rev R.M.F. Ross, minister at Clydebank, and the two session were later united in 1976 under the name of Clydebank St Andrew's. Clydebank St. Andrew's further united with Kilbowie in 1990 to form the session of Clydebank Kilbowie St. Andrew's. The kirk session sits within the Presbytery of Dumbarton. |
